2021 NASBLA BUI Research Study
As a supplement to the 2019 NASBLA BUI Research Report, 10 international studies (ranging in publication 1990 – 2010) were analyzed for key findings and topical parallels to prior research. The session will detail five key findings from the research as a benchmark for awareness, further research, and programmatic discussions.

President
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
Alex Otte is the National President of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She came to MADD, and the boating and water safety community, after surviving a near-fatal crash caused by an intoxicated boater in 2010 when she was just 13 years old. As a result of the crash, Alex was in a coma for a week and suffered numerous life threatening and lifelong injuries. She has since dedicated her life to fighting for a day when no other child is forced to face such a tragedy, on the roadway or the waterway.
